Cuyahoga Arts & Culture Report Demonstrates Public Funding has a Positive Community Impact in Cuyahoga County

Since being created by voters in 2006, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture has invested more than $95 million in 208 arts and culture organizations in Cuyahoga County.  This report illustrates that, by investing in arts and cultural programs and organizations, CAC enriches the quality of life, enhances education for learners of all ages, and supports economic opportunities for the region.

In short, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture is making a difference for the community through:

• enriching community by improving quality of life.  In 2011, CAC-funded arts and culture organizations served more than 6.1 million residents and visitors, with 50 percent of admissions free.

• enhancing education for people of all ages, from pre-K to grade schools to senior centers.  In 2011, CAC-funded organizations served more than 1.4 million children.

• contributing to the local economy.  In 2011, CAC-funded organizations supported a workforce of nearly 9,000 jobs, and for every $1 CAC invested in arts and culture, nearly $20 was pumped back into our economy.
