DataArts announced the election of a new member to its Board of Directors: James L. “JW” Williams III, the chief executive officer of Lawrence Williams, LLC, a Washington DC-based consulting firm.
“We’re very pleased to welcome JW,” said Rich Mintz, DataArts’ Board Chair. “His deep experience in long-term operations planning, along with his enthusiastic commitment to the arts, especially for the value and opportunity they bring to underserved communities, makes him a very exciting addition to our national board.”
Throughout his professional career managing a broad array of projects with national and international reach, Mr. Williams has been recognized for his consensus and team-building, process implementation, and strategy development.
Williams’ has been a passionate patron of the arts from his childhood in Virginia Beach, VA, where his parents regularly exposed him to the theater, museums and music. He plays piano and drums and has performed as a hip hop artist and break dancer.
Mr. Williams is a certified Project Management Professional and holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science degree from Howard University and a Master’s degree in Real Estate from Georgetown University. He is a past president of African-American Real Estate Professional of D.C. (AAREP) and has served on their board.
