Nicole Kim, Ph.D., is a Cultural Research Fellow at SMU DataArts where she works on projects primarily focused on the Houston Arts Ecosystem together with the Houston Endowment and Fresh Arts. Prior to SMU DataArts, Nicole served as a policy analyst and researcher within the child welfare system. Her work focused on supporting children and families and addressing systemic inequities within the child welfare and other intervening public systems. Nicole received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin.
