Community Volunteer
Ms. Wilhelm is a mission-driven philanthropist with a focus on the arts and culture, education, global connection, and conserving the environment. In her home community of Dallas, TX she serves as a Life Trustee of Dallas Theater Center, as former Board Chair of The Arts Community Alliance TACA, trustee of KERA North Texas Public Broadcasting, former trustee of World Affairs Council of DFW, and as Advisory Council member of The Nasher Sculpture Center. After completion of strategic global philanthropy training with the Rockefeller Foundation, her international initiatives have included capacity building of women and girls in majority Muslim countries and educational initiatives serving India’s slum children. She earned her undergraduate degree in studio art/art history from Hunter College, CUNY, and specialty in jewelry design from NY Parsons School of Design. She has retired as an independent jewelry designer. Her published memoir, A Life Of My Own, dedicates its’ profits to support underserved women, girls, and youth education.
