Program Lead, Arts and Culture, Bloomberg Philanthropies

Anita joined Bloomberg Philanthropies in 2012 where she oversees its Public Art Challenge and Special Projects. Bloomberg Philanthropies partners with some of the nation’s top foundations and federal agencies to invest in projects where artists and arts organizations play a central role in strengthening their communities’ social and economic vitality.

Prior to joining Bloomberg Philanthropies, Anita served as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Public Affairs and Global Philanthropy at CIT, she was Vice President and Director of the World Trade Center 9/11 Memorial and Cultural Programs at the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, and First Vice President of Global Sponsorships and Client Relationships at Merrill Lynch. She implemented and oversaw the World Financial Center Arts and Events Program for Brookfield Properties and, earlier, was the founding President of Creative Time an award-winning non-profit arts organization.

Anita has received numerous awards for distinguished public service including from ArtTable NY, the Downtown Lower Manhattan Business Association, the Municipal Arts Society, Hofstra University, and the AIA New York Chapter.

Her current and past board affiliations include, ArtPlace America, Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation, Center for Curatorial Leadership, Grantmakers in the Arts, Governor’s Island Arts Committee, Publicolor, SMU DataArts, and she is a member of ArtTable NY and the Century Association. During the Bloomberg Administration, she served on the board of The Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City.
